Today Storm is a brand name synonymous with bowling balls but they weren’t the products that started off the organization way back in 1985. Bill Chrisman, the founder of High Score Products was the one who was observant enough to notice that bowling balls made from urethane tended to absorb the oil present in the bowling lanes.

He realized that he was looking at a potential opportunity which he went on to convert into a reality when he released his first ever product – U Clean/U Score Urethane Bowling Ball Cleaner. For the next six years, this was their primary product and one that brought them great success. By 1991, Chrisman and company found they had enough money and time to devote to a new product. Ever the man with the drive to take on a challenge, Chrisman got in touch with Keith Orton, a man who’s considered to be a pioneering manufacturer of urethane bowling balls, and set up a production facility to make bowling balls under the High Score Products’ banner.

The name they chose for that line is of course Storm. Within a year, the Storm bowling balls were a name known nationally. The business not only doubled but tripled within that time span forcing the management to move to a larger manufacturing facility. So famous did these bowling balls become that the company name was overshadowed. In 1994, the decision was made to change their name from High Score products to Storm Products.

There are as many as six different “editions” of Storm bowling balls namely, Premier, Thunder, Tropical, Master, Hot and Ice. Each consists of two or more bowling balls that are enthusiastically purchased by both professionals as well as amateurs. The brand is also often made use of on the professional bowling circuit each year.

The latest bowling balls to be released were additions to the Premier, Thunder and Hot categories. The Premier bowling ball has been named Invasion, the Thunder ball, Reign of Fire and the Hot bowling ball, Fast! All three have to be seen to be appreciated.
